The mission and the vision of the library are correlated by emphasizing the continuous enhancement of resources to meet the spiritual, curriculum, research, cultural, and recreational needs of the students, faculty, staff, and college community.
In order to enable students to be successful in their academic pursuits, the library staff, to the best of our abilities and resources, will acquire, organize, and make accessible a well-balanced spectrum of information in both print and non-print formats.
The library offers educational support services to students by offering instructional and reference services which are tailored to meet their research needs.
The library hours are structured to ensure that library users have adequate access to library resources. The operating hours are as follows:
Monday 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday 8:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday CLOSED
The library has sufficient and adequate space to house the over 22,000 books and other resources which consist of general circulation books, reference books, periodicals, audio-visual materials and equipment. The library collections are organized by the Dewey Decimal Classification System.
Although the library specializes in the areas of biblical studies, theology, and Christian ministries, it also maintains other curricular materials.
The book collection and instructional resources reflect the many years of library collection management and growth to support the academic programs offered at Selma University .
